Best of Both Worlds?

I saw the faceting machine pictured below at the gem show in Ste. Marie aux Mines near Strassbourg, France. It combines the benefits of a mast machine with the removability of a platform faceter. Popping the quill out to examine the stone then returning it to its proper position takes only a second or two.

Note that the other mast (on the left) was a homebuilt add-on.
